MJ case, one of the most unique and bizarre cases of mental illness ever seen that should be studied more closely by as many professionals as possible

A mentally ill pop idol with delusions of grandeur fighting externally and internally with himself for power. Within each and every human being is always the struggle between good and evil or right and wrong; this is an undeniable fact. With MJ though it seems that his “good and evil” within are very polarized and quite extreme.

Is Michael Jackson gay? This is a question everyone is thinking but most are afraid to verbalize for fear of the pc police.

I don’t have the answers to the questions surrounding Michael Jackson’s sexuality and I think neither does he at this point.

We really don’t know if he is gay.
I don’t think he is straight.

He could be anything from gay, bi-sexual to even what is termed gender queer. The term gender queer refers to those individuals whose physical gender does not necessarily match their mental gender identity and therefore they do not fit into any commonly conceived gender role within society that is considered normal. In other words Michael may be a female identified man attracted to either or both sexes.

Being gender queer affects one’s body image, personal identity and sexual identity thus influencing their sexual behavior, outer dress and/or appearance. Gender queer people tend to have difficulty in their intimate relationships with others and their ability to socialize in the world.

Gender queer related behaviors break commonly accepted social and sexual barriers within our society; although unconventional they are not illegal unless the law is broken and someone is hurt as a result. In cases of abuse, rape and molestation these acts are illegal regardless of the sexual identity of the person committing the crime. This is the law.

Michael Jackson may or may not be sexually active. It is very possible that he is impotent. This of course does not mean that he would be incapable of molestation. One does not need sexual potency in order to molest or even rape someone. Molestation and rape are about abuse of power and personal boundaries and not necessarily about the sex act in and of itself.

What I think we do know for sure about Michael Jackson is that he is definitely queer, in every sense of the word.

Below is Webster’s definition of queer.

queer (kwir) adj. 1 differing from what is usual or ordinary; odd; singular; strange 2 slightly ill 3 suspicious 4 having mental quirks; eccentric 5 [Slang] not genuine 6 [Slang] homosexual: term of contempt or derision – vt. 1 to spoil the smooth operation of success of 2 to put (oneself) into an unfavorable position

And so, Michael Jackson is by definition very queer.

How do we know this?

Let’s take a closer look at the man called Michael Jackson whom from this point onward I will refer to as MJ.

MJ: Severe Body Image Issues

“Who Is That Masked Man? – For all the accolades and multi-platinum records that he has received over the years, it is Jackson’s increasingly bizarre behavior that has gotten attention. In public, he appears as a masked man, hiding surgery upon surgery under a surgical mask — purportedly to ward off germs. Then there’s his bleached-out skin, and the allegations that he had been sexually abusing a minor. “

-ABC News, Fallen Star? Jackson’s Bizarre Behavior Raises Questions

Do you feel that what is left of MJ’s face looks like a mask?

The following image is of an ancient Egyptian mask depicting Cleopatra:

Masks have always played a significant role within society. The mask has always held much power cross-culturally throughout time and the world for centuries.

“… continual fluctuation from one apparent facial form to another leaves the observer spellbound; they hold the attention much more powerfully than could any realistic facial representation.”

- John Liggett, The Human Face, The Face in the Mind

The connection between the face, the mask and the mind becomes even more apparent when observing relationships between masks and people especially in cases of mental and/or physical illnesses.

Also, pop idols tend to use their image to make their fans spellbound in order to get the attention they long for. Not very much unlike idol worship of ancient times, pop idols use this type of magical power over star struck fans in order to gain power within society.

“The curious power of the facial image over the imagination is clearly shown by the central part which masks and idols have always played…”

-John Liggett, The Human Face, The Face in the Mind

But, it seems that even with all his money, power and fame MJ is still very unhappy in his personal and physical identity as an African-American man. He seems to have transformed his face, that of an African-American man, into the mask of a European-American woman in order to gain not only self acceptance but also to mesmerize and captivate his audience.

“In 1995, at the age of 36, Jackson released HIStory: Past, Present And Future — Book 1. In the video for the song “Childhood,” his appearance was strangely wide-eyed, square-jawed, narrow-cheeked, and his skin was like porcelain.

“Probably he’s trying to look Caucasian,” was Lipkin’s reaction. “His skin is whiter. His nose is getting thinner every six months. His lips are getting thinner. His eyebrows are getting higher. His eyes are getting wider every time. His cheekbones are getting bigger.”

-ABC News – ‘Nasal Cripple’ A Leading Surgeon on the Evolution of Michael Jackson’s Face

In a British documentary MJ had said that when he was growing up his father used to tease him about the size of his nose, but he rejected any suggestion that he was trying to change his appearance to appear more White.

“By 1991, when Jackson’s song “Black and White” was a huge hit internationally, people were beginning to wonder whether he was lightening his skin. On the song, he sang, “I’m not gonna spend my life being a color”

- ABC News – ‘Nasal Cripple’ A Leading Surgeon on the Evolution of Michael Jackson’s Face

“In old African communities the feticheur combined the function of physician, magistrate and priest. The distinctive mask which he wore served to enhance and confirm his importance; it concealed his miserably ordinary personal identity and created for him an entirely new and powerful personality. Like a uniform, it defined his role and confirmed his status.”

-John Liggett, The Human Face, The Face in the Mind

Ironically enough, the mask as a uniform is also reflected in his dress. The outlandish kingly clothing he chooses to wear reveals a strong inner need to be viewed as one of royal status and his desire to be treated as such.

It appears that his desire is to be perceived as European nobility.

Through the use of clothing as costume and body-manipulation, face-sculpting, make-up and music MJ is presenting a picture of who he feels he is on the inside and projecting it outward. He is living a walking, breathing, eternal masquerade of escape from who he really is versus who he wants to be. I think this has occurred because he never went through the normal pubescent mental developmental growth process because he was a child star robbed of a childhood and also robbed of puberty. As such his identity was never formed.

Through manipulating his body and face and hair he is trying to recreate an identity that has never been truly formed inside his mind. The healthy way to form an identity would be to first seek psychological help. To attain a stable whole personal identity first and then decide how one would wish to express this identity externally in their outward appearance. Not the other way around, which MJ seems to have done.

This mistake has led him down a miserable path where there is little hope of returning from. He seems to have become a danger to himself and those around him.

Is it a coincidence that he put out two albums entitled, Bad and Dangerous? What is he trying to tell us?

Excessive Plastic Surgery As Self-Mutilation

Of all bizarre human behaviors, self-mutilation ranks among the least understood, the most puzzling and most disturbing of illnesses to comprehend. What is it that motivates some people to alter and destroy their body tissue or to consent to the destruction of their body tissue by others?

The motivation to mutilate one’s body varies from person to person.

To find out what motivates someone to act we need to inspect and analyze their lifestyle choices and hidden desires. We need to dispel all mystery surrounding their actions by finding out “what makes them tick.” In order to do this we must use not only psychiatry as a tool but also simple character profiling to find out what and why someone is acting the way they are and just what they are capable or incapable of. In order to get to the bottom of this with MJ we need to examine him very closely and understand psychological profiling terminologies such as self-mutilation.

Self-mutilation is a behavior that externally reveals what the person is hiding inside. It is the first clue that something is seriously wrong with someone.

What exactly is self-mutilation?

“Self-mutilation is a violent act associated with suffering, either immediate or delayed. However there are many culturally sanctioned instances where persons willingly mutilate themselves or allow others to mutilate them.”

- Armando R. Favazza, MD., Bodies Under Siege – Self-mutilation in Culture and Psychiatry

http://articles.mibba.com/People/2122/Self-Mutilation-Disease-of-Attention-Gainer

Subjecting oneself to excessive plastic surgery can qualify as self-mutilation. MJ is, most specifically, mutilating his nose via excessive surgery upon it.

Self-mutilation of the nose is not uncommon in various cultures around the world.

“While surgical procedures performed in Western cultures serve to reduce the size of the nose, the Polynesians used to break and flatten their noses.”

- Armando R. Favazza, MD., Bodies Under Siege – Self-mutilation in Culture and Psychiatry

In our Western culture the socially approved method of body manipulation on the nose is called rhinoplastic surgery. In most instances of rhinoplasty, it is a safe procedure that does not leave the person deformed. In cases of excessive rhinoplastic surgery the patient is left with the mutilated remains of a nose. This mutilated nose is called a “crippled nose” by surgeons.

“… plastic surgeons perform numerous rhinoplasties, thus affording a culturally approved procedure for individuals desirous of changing the shape of their noses.”

- Armando R. Favazza, MD., Bodies Under Siege – Self-mutilation in Culture and Psychiatry

MJ has had so many rhinoplastic surgeries performed, that his nose is literally falling apart.

“Dr. Pamela Lipkin, a prominent plastic surgeon in New York City who has studied photographs taken of Jackson at a California court appearance in November — in which his apparently scarred nose was covered by a small transparent bandage — believes something went wrong.

‘What I think happened recently is that something in his nose — a graft, an implant, something — has now come out through the skin,’ said Lipkin, a nasal specialist who is not Jackson’s doctor and has never examined him in person. ‘He’s really got a hole in his skin.’

‘Michael Jackson has what we call an end-stage nose, a crippled nose, a crucified nose — one that’s beyond the point of no return,’ she said.

‘People who have had so many surgeries on their nose that it becomes hard to breathe through are called nasal cripples,’ Lipkin said.”

-ABC News – ‘Nasal Cripple’ A Leading Surgeon on the Evolution of Michael Jackson’s Face

MJ appears to have unrealistic obsessions revolving around his face and nose. This condition is called Body Dysmorphic Disorder and is a form of Obsessive Compulsive Spectrum Disorder.

Psychiatrists often believe that self-mutilation of the nose in men results from profound feelings of rejection and fear of emerging homosexual impulses. They often equate nose mutilation in men with symbolic self-castration.

Freud, for instance, had a patient with obsessive compulsive body image issues surrounding his nose. The patient felt that his nose was deformed when in fact it was not. But because he believed it to be deformed, he had physicians “treat” his imagined nose deformity so often that his nose actually eventually became deformed. It was a self-fulfilling prophecy. A Dr. Ruth Brunswick was another psychoanalyst treating the patient with the nose disorder.

“Brunswick felt that his nasal symptoms represented a mother identification and an expression of his repressed, bisexual femininity. She noted that he purchased a woman’s compact case and used it, as would a woman, to observe and powder his nose. She recognized sadomasochistic trends in his character and linked his demands for treatment of his nose with a castration complex (Gardiner 1971).”

- Armando R. Favazza, MD., Bodies Under Siege – Self-mutilation in Culture and Psychiatry

This leads me to believe that MJ likewise might have “repressed, bisexual femininity,” is ashamed of his penis and is sadomasochisticly subconsciously trying to castrate himself symbolically via nose size reduction surgeries that have led to what is now a deformed and crippled nose nearing its end stage.

“Dr. Lipkin, when an end-stage nose continues to be subjected to surgeries, what is the final result? Nothing but cartilage? Also, isn’t there something a plastic surgeon could do to repair MJ’s nose, since reconstructive surgery is done all the time on people with severely damaged facial structures? Thank you for your expertise.

Dr. Pamela Lipkin: An end-stage nose means a nose that can’t be salvaged; the tissues have lost their viability and even with perfect, expert surgery, improvement would be unlikely. Very few noses fall into this category — even noses that look awful and considerably over-operated may be highly improvable.

End-stage really means that the nasal tissues have been so traumatized and scarred that reconstruction is doomed to fail. Obviously, continuing to operate on a nose like that could only make the situation worse. By “worse,” I mean further destruction of the tissues so the nose gets smaller, more contracted and scarred.”

- ABC News, Doctor’s View – Q&A: Plastic Surgeon Pamela Lipkin Discusses Jackson’s Surgeries

[Photo of MJ hiding behind a black surgical mask, hat and scarf.]

In a 1999 interview with ABCNEWS, Dr. Stephen Hoefflin, a plastic surgeon who operated on Jackson’s nose said, “I think he wanted a feature [his nose] that bothered him to be made smaller, more sculptured.” being careful to add that Jackson had more surgery than he recommended.

“…when Jackson was called to defend himself in a $21 million lawsuit filed by a concert promoter, there were the photos in which the tip of the pop singer’s nose appeared to be peeling off.”

- ABC News, Fallen Star? Jackson’s Bizarre Behavior Raises Questions

MJ’s confessions in Martin Bashir’s documentary Living With Michael Jackson:

“In the documentary, Jackson said that as a boy, though he was able to run away and escape the blows sometimes, his father beat him ‘too much,’ sometimes grabbing an ironing cord to whip him with, Jackson said.”

‘But when he could catch me, oh my God it was bad, it was really bad,’ Jackson said.”

- ABC News, Tough Love- Michael Jackson Describes Beatings During Jackson 5 Rehearsals

A picture of MJ as a young boy, perhaps when he was still OK:

Victims of child abuse often become sadomasochistic adults with severe self-image issues.

In this society poor mentally ill people with self-inflicted body-deformities are considered to be outcasts and freaks. The wealthy mentally ill with self-induced body deformities have the luxury of being thought of as eccentric. Why is this? Because our society is corrupt and values money over madness.

Photo of MJ as a pubescent teenager:

It appears to me that MJ was grossly in need of counseling a long time ago, perhaps when he was a child, and never having received adequate counseling he was hurled down a deadly path of self-abuse and external abuse of power. He is now but a darkened adult shadow of his former abused child self.

“Jackson claimed that if he and his brothers didn’t dance and sing well enough, their father, Joe Jackson, would strike them with a belt.”

- ABC News, Tough Love- Michael Jackson Describes Beatings During Jackson 5 Rehearsals

Photo of MJ looking like your average young Black man, probably just before the operations:

MJ seeks perfection. He wants to be perfect. Human tissue is not perfect.

His face no longer looks human.

MJ was abused as a child. His father tormented him both physically and mentally.

He has carried on the legacy of his father’s abuse by inadvertently abusing himself and perhaps others.

It is important at this point to note that most mentally ill people are actually quite passive and non-violent and not all survivors of child abuse become abusers themselves. Every case is unique.

The case of MJ is perhaps one of the most unique and bizarre cases of mental illness ever seen that should be studied more closely by as many professionals as possible.

MJ in fleeting acts of desperation to escape his legacy of child abuse has gone from one religious group to another perhaps seeking spiritual fulfillment in hopes of curing his mental anguish. This is not uncommon. Many mentally ill people, as far back as ancient times, have felt as though they’re “possessed” by evil spirits.

It appears to me that MJ’s sexuality stirs up intense feelings in him that he has been trying to suppress for decades.Below is an illustration from MJ’s album Thriller, in which MJ stars in the music video’s leading role as a man who after getting kissed by a girl turns into a monster or beast that lurks within.

“The notion that spirits reside in the head has suggested to many peoples that the best way of curing a man who was mad or possessed of evil spirits or devils was by drilling or ‘trephining’ a hole in his skull to allow the evil spirit to emerge. Archaeologists have shown that such trephination has been practiced for many thousands of years. And, given this belief that spirits reside behind the face, primitive man found it natural enough to construct representations of his gods and his spirits in facial images. These idols formed a useful focus for his spiritual activities. Thereafter it was but a small step from making a god to becoming one; by enclosing oneself in it, all of its magical powers could be acquired. This explains the significance and popularity of masks among primitive people.”

- John Liggett, The Human Face, The Face in the Mind

Is MJ unconsciously trying to siphon out his demons, through his nose? It seems probable. Certainly all modern impulsive behaviors have their root in primal or primitive instincts that can be traced as far back as 4,000 years ago.

A mentally ill pop idol with delusions of grandeur fighting externally and internally with himself for power. Within each and every human being is always the struggle between good and evil or right and wrong; this is an undeniable fact. With MJ though it seems that his “good and evil” within are very polarized and quite extreme.

Is he a god or is he a demon? He is neither. But I think he feels he may be both.

[Right cover portrait/illustration is from MJ’s short film Ghost.]

He is only a man, a man whose sense of identity is so fractured and polarized that he has become very unstable and mentally unbalanced. I believe this may be affecting his perception of what is right and wrong.

Which side will win the struggle of “good against evil” inside this man? I do not know. We will have to wait and see. It is entirely up to him whether he is capable of coming out of this psychological trap of torment he has fallen into or not.

“Self-mutilation offers a temporary respite from illness rather than a permanent cure because the sacrificial death of the Primordial Being is not emulated; the mentally ill person sacrifices a body part or a portion of blood in order to achieve a modicum of well-being.”

- Armando R. Favazza, MD., Bodies Under Siege – Self-mutilation in Culture and Psychiatry

MJ has sacrificed his nose.

“The bodies of some mentally ill self-mutilators can be thought of as a stage upon which is enacted a personal drama…”

- Armando R. Favazza, MD., Bodies Under Siege – Self-mutilation in Culture and Psychiatry

It is probable that MJ mutilates himself through plastic surgery in an attempt to have more control or power in his life. I don’t think he is consciously aware of this. I believe him to be too disturbed to consciously understand the significance of his abusive actions toward himself or others.

He is a miserable person who is tormented by mental illness and in dire need of psychiatric care.

It seems that MJ is trying everything he can think of to make himself feel better about who he is. He has tried everything except the thing that will really cure him of his mental anguish that causes him to behave so strangely, such as intensive psychotherapy. Instead he is getting more and more lost in a web of his own creative deception.

A man losing touch with reality should not be surrounding himself with children.

The January 22, 2004, MSNBC Interview segment with the nanny for Michael Jackson’s three children, Grace Rwarmba and her bizarre comment:

MSNBC: Why do you think Michael is again facing allegations of child abuse?
Rwarmba: Satan the Devil. He is behind all of this mess.

I don’t think his nanny sounds very stable either.

The MJ Mask: A Frankenface

“The head is importantly associated with two major facets of human life: aesthetics and control. Although our perception of physical beauty involves the total human body, the head holds a preeminent place. A minor anatomical rearrangement, such as the crossing of an eye, the elongation of a nose, or an alteration of hairstyle, can change a person’s appearance drastically and turn beauty into ugliness.”

- Armando R. Favazza, MD., Bodies Under Siege, The Head and Its Parts

Children I have spoken with have told me that they think MJ is “ugly” and “scary.” MJ has become a walking caricature of himself.

Below is a drawing of Michael Jackson done by a child named Matt:

An insecure control freak obsessed with becoming Peter Pan, MJ has given himself a Peter Pan nose.

MJ while trying to become Peter Pan seems to have inadvertently become the Boogey Man instead.

The most worrisome thing about his Frankenface mask is not that it scares children, but that his recent actions with his own children are leading many professionals to fear that he is a bad influence on his own children’s mental development.

I would say he fits the profile of an impotent female identified man with control issues who might abuse his adult status to push boundary limits with children to recapture his lost childhood, obtain a sense of perverse intimacy, control and power in his life.

“In public, Jackson’s older children, Prince Michael I, 5, and Paris, 4, appear in party masks. The pop star says he makes them wear the masks because he fears the children could be abducted if their faces are revealed in public.”

I’m a little concerned that the way Michael Jackson is doing it is making the child feel odd, drawing more attention rather than less to the child,” Karp said. “He’s making them feel that the weird people can come up to you and the only thing protecting you is a mask,” he said”

- ABC News, Dangerous Dad? Pediatricians Weigh In on Jackson’s Masked Kids and the Baby Dangling

“Moderator: With all of this surgery, could Jackson be putting his health at risk?

Dr. Pamela Lipkin: That’s a good question. Amazingly, this type of cosmetic surgery of the face is quite safe. Even in Jackson’s predicament right now — with something terrible going on with his nose — he’s probably not risking his health too much.

If his nasal tissues which are over-operated get infected, he can go on antibiotics. The most serious risk is that he could lose his nose. This is certainly not normal — but a person can live without a nose.

So it’s a quality of life issue — not life and death.”

- ABC News, Doctor’s View – Q&A: Plastic Surgeon Pamela Lipkin Discusses Jackson’s Surgeries

Many are reasonably concerned that he is a danger to his own children. I believe he is. His bizarre behavior could be seriously affecting his children’s body image development and child to adult psychological developments. MJ’s own developments in these areas were never nurtured by his parents and so as a result he never learned how to be a good parent especially in these areas. He would need a lot of psychiatric help to overcome this.

He has a strange god-like Peter Pan complex in which he feels the need to surround himself with child followers. One cannot obtain godhood without children.

What I worry most about are the frightening possibilities of physical harm being done to these innocent children especially his own children whom he has unbridled contact with.

Could MJ be a danger to his own children? Yes. I think so.

If inflicting so many facial surgeries upon himself is dangerous to his health and if in being a danger to himself one would tend to think he might be a danger to others, then that leads me to become greatly concerned that he may be subjecting his own children to the same facial treatment he gives himself. They have never been seen in public without their faces hidden by scarves and/or masks.

If MJ is so obsessed with changing the way he looks with little if any impulse control and wanting to ensure that people believe that his children are his children, he may make them undergo plastic surgery and skin bleaching in order to make them look more like himself. Think of how it would look if porcelain skinned, square-faced, cleft-chinned, tiny nosed MJ revealed his very African-American children to the world? The surrogate mother of MJ’s children is European-American. Even so, if these children are genetically his own, they would naturally look at least half African-American by transfer of MJ’s genetic DNA coding. He wouldn’t want that. According to his psychological profile he would want European looking children. If his children look White, I wonder whether or not he is the true genetic father of these children.

If they are genetically his children, they would have to have some African-American physical characteristics. If they are his own children and DNA tests conclude this and the children look very European-American then I would look toward the possibility that he is subjecting them to skin bleaching and plastic surgery as well.

It is a strange and new concept of physical abuse I am presenting of inflicting excessive plastic surgery upon one’s own children that I fear he may have the impulse behavior needed to actually carry out. This is a scary thought indeed.

MJ is a very sick man. I believe these children should be taken away from his care before he destroys their faces as he has destroyed his own. Before he destroys their lives the way his life has been destroyed.

“He says that his fame is something that he and the children will simply have to deal with. ‘That’s the way it is. And it’s worked successfully in the past many times,’ Jackson said. ‘It’s all in how you shape and sculpt and mold their world, you know. And many people have been very successful at it.’

Murphy said she was most bothered by the way he treated his children like objects. In the interview, he talked about the children being ‘presents’ for him from Rowe.

‘He didn’t seem to be talking about his children from their perspective.’”

- ABC News, Red Flags -Family Law Expert Says Jackson Documentary Raises Questions

Notice how in these quotes above he refers to his children as objects that need their world sculpted and shaped. “…you shape and sculpt and mold their world.” What a strange way for him to put it.

Is MJ capable of child abuse?

Yes. I think so. He fits the profile of a child abuser. But not how one would normally view child abuse. I believe that the form of abuse MJ might inflict upon children would take a different route with him through unconscious unconventional abuse and neglectful actions. I believe that he is capable of child abuse without intending to abuse. He is a very confused person. He has developed bad behaviors that are not healthy for anyone, especially children, to be around.

He appears to have boundary issues especially when it comes to children.

Sleeping in the same bed with children is a manipulative power-play of psychological abuse that pushes safe boundaries in the guise of an “innocent slumber party.”

“’He lives in an environment where he thinks it’s acceptable to lift his child over a balcony and risk his life to please his fans,’ Murphy told ABCNEWS’ Good Morning America. ‘That’s an adult parent who doesn’t have an idea of safety or boundaries of what’s acceptable for children.’ ”

- ABC News, Red Flags -Family Law Expert Says Jackson Documentary Raises Questions

“Jackson had been waving to his German fans when he apparently brought the baby, with a towel covering its head, out onto the veranda.

Holding the baby with one arm he then briefly dangled the infant over the balcony railing of the Adlon Hotel, before hurrying back into his room with the child.

Fear gripped the crowd of around 200 fans as it appeared the struggling baby may have been about to fall to the ground.”

- The Associated Press, Jackson Dangles Baby – Fans Startled as Pop Star Holds Infant Son Over Hotel Balcony

“The balcony dangling incident could cause an infant a tremendous amount of trauma, one expert said.

‘It was frightening,’ said Dr. Bruce Roseman, a family practitioner from New York. ‘It’s child endangerment. No one would ever take their child and dangle them out of a running car, so the idea that you would do it over a balcony is very frightening,’ he said.”

- ABC News, Dangerous Dad? Pediatricians Weigh In on Jackson’s Masked Kids and the Baby Dangling

“Wendy Murphy, a visiting scholar at Harvard University who specializes in children and family law, said that Jackson’s parenting habits, and other revelations in the documentary, raise real concerns.

She cited the incident last November, in which Jackson dangled his youngest child, Prince Michael II, the baby he calls ‘Blanket,’ from a Berlin hotel balcony five stories up.”

- ABC News, Red Flags -Family Law Expert Says Jackson Documentary Raises Questions

“Behind the Masks …

… Dr. Harvey Karp, author of the The Happiest Baby on the Block, and pediatrician for children of stars like Madonna, Pierce Brosnan and Michelle Pfeiffer, said Jackson’s way of shielding his children from paparazzi was worrisome.

In public, Jackson’s older children, Prince Michael I, 5, and Paris, 4, appear in party masks. The pop star says he makes them wear the masks because he fears the children could be abducted if their faces are revealed in public.

‘I’m a little concerned that the way Michael Jackson is doing it is making the child feel odd, drawing more attention rather than less to the child,’ Karp said. ‘He’s making them feel that the weird people can come up to you and the only thing protecting you is a mask,’ he said”

- ABC News, Dangerous Dad? Pediatricians Weigh In on Jackson’s Masked Kids and the Baby Dangling

He is obviously depersonalizing his own children, perhaps because he himself is a depersonalized adult who was abused as a child and he doesn’t know any other way to be or act. He is neglectful and has bizarre impulses that he can not control such as dangling his baby over a banister in Berlin etc. Therefore, he should not be allowed to be around children without proper adult supervision.

“During one trip with the children, Jackson was mobbed by fans, and as is his typical practice, he stopped to sign autographs, letting go of Paris’ hand.”

- ABC News, Red Flags -Family Law Expert Says Jackson Documentary Raises Questions

Letting go of a small child’s hand while being mobbed by fans, is dangerous and extremely neglectful behavior that could’ve led to the child being abducted or even trampled upon by the mob or any number of serious dangers. A responsible parent would be more careful in such a situation. MJ himself claims that he is concerned that the children might be abducted.

The pop star says he makes them wear the masks because he fears the children could be abducted if their faces are revealed in public.

- ABC News, Red Flags -Family Law Expert Says Jackson Documentary Raises Questions

If he is so worried about them being abducted, then why would his “fatherly” instincts allow him to let go of the hand of one of his small children in public while being mobbed by fans, in order to stop and sign autographs? What he says and what he does are inconsistent and worrisome.

If he thinks first of himself and his “pop idol” image and as a result sacrifices the safety of his children for his fans then he is not a good parent, plain and simple.

MJ: Compulsive Liar with Delusions of Grandeur

Adult children of abusive parents tend to be compulsive liars with delusions of grandeur.

MJ fits this profile as well.

“… in August, at the MTV Video Music Awards, singer Britney Spears introduced him as the “artist of the millennium” as she called him up to the stage to present an honorary birthday gift. He had turned 44 that day.

But Jackson stepped up to thank everyone for naming him “artist of the millennium.” “God bless you all,” Jackson said before launching into a speech.

The problem was, the “artist of the millennium” award did not actually exist.”
